Ramanaidu to be honoured Padma Bhushan Award
Movie Mogul Daggubati Ramanaidu is one of the biggest contributors to Indian cinema. The multi-lingual filmmaker has been honoured with India's highest award in cinema - Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The latest we hear is that Ramanaidu has been conferred the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India - the Padma Bhushan Award in recognition for his contribution to Telugu cinema.

According to reports, the Andhra Pradesh Government had nominated Ramanaidu and director Bapu for the honour of Padma Bhushan Award in November in 2012. The filmmaker has reportedly got the official confirmation about the honour on Friday morning (January 25). He would be officially receiving this honour from Pranav Mukherjee, the President of India on the Republican day, January 26.

Born on 6 June 1936 in Andhra Pradesh, amanaidu entered films as producer with Telugu film Anuragam in 1963. He scored his first with NT Rama Rao's Ramudu Bheemudu in 1964. Then onwards there is no look back for this most prolific filmmaker. In his career of five decades, he has produced 130 films in different Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Oriya and English.

National awards are meant ONLY for social and national service which helps to improve our economy, standard of life, value systems etc in the eyes of the world to get us name and fame - BUT is being misused for sports, film folks who amass lots of money and do little for the country in most cases; they can be honoured with Sports and Entertainment awards in recognition of their talents - we talked ill of Rao Sahib, Rao Bahadur of British Govt but continue same trend with different titles; PITY there is NO sense of justice in our Govt at top and many are "corrupt" to the core to please chamchas and chelaas !!!
