3. Mozilla Firefox/Google Chrome
   Both are excellent web browsers as they are fast, user-friendly and secure. Firefox offers you additional features such as blocker, password manager and page translator. The choice of extensions for Google Chrome, however, is limited.

5. Microsoft Security Essentials 2012
   Security Essentials works with other free Microsoft security products such as Windows Firewall and Parental Controls to give you excellent all round protection and ease of use. When we put it through our tests for security software, the program handled them well, quickly spotting and removing threats. It was a Right Choice, scoring an excellent 84%.

7. xVideoServiceThief(YouTube Video downloader)
   xVideoServiceThief allows you to download your favourite video clips from websites on to your computer.

8. Auslogics Disk Defrag
   It is a maintenance tool designed to cure system sluggishness and stop crashes caused by disk fragmentation. Windows generally comes with its own disk-defragmenter, but this is considered better.

   It is an online back-up and recovery service that allows you to select files and folders on your computer and back them up online. It is fully automated so you have to just set it once and it will back up files periodically. It works for both Windows and Mac users.

10. Picasa
    Google Picasa is not a software we would recommend for editing images (it scored 41% in our tests of photo-editing software), but it has strengths as an image organiser. If you use Picasa photo organiser software on your computer, you can create albums and upload them to social media websites using the ‘Picasa uploader’ application on the networking site.
