Healing without Medicines - Reflexology | Mana Blog... for all
Aug 20, 2010

Reflexology is a complimentary therapy widely accepted in the UK and recognised by the NHS, many GP's and hospices. The therapy has been used for several thousands of years and can be traced back to ancient Eygpt as early as 2330 BC.

It is based on the principal that all the body's organs, glands and structures are reflected in the feet and hands. By applying pressure to the reflex points in the feet and/or hands, the blood circulation is improved, blockages are removed and organs and glands become balanced, thereby assisting the body to heal itself.

Most people can benefit from Reflexology. It treats the causes and not just the symptoms and can bring relief to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. It is totally safe for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly.

Reflexology does not cure but can bring relief from conditions such as:

  • stress and tension
  • sleep disorders
  • digestive disorders (including IBS, constipation
  • hormonal disorders (including menopause, PMS)
  • back pain
  • migraine
  • arthritis
  • sinus problems
  • fertility issues
  • asthma
  • high blood pressure
  • side effects of cancer treatment

A typical foot reflexology treatment lasts 45-50 minutes and it is generally recommended that a course of 4 - 6 weekly treatments is considered, however the frequency of treatments is up to you, and many vary depending on your state of health and long term objectives.
