Both the handsets are good entry level smartphones. LG Optimus L3 II and L5 II have been launched in India for Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,499 respectively
Korean smartphone manufacturer LG seems to be on an offensive these days. The company seems to be playing a catch up game with its fellow Korean tech giant and biggest smart phone manufacturer Samsung. This is the reason that LG is introducing one handset in the market after the other without much break. The company is preparing to launch its two mid-range handsets in the form of LG Optimus L3 II and L5 II in India.
Both the handsets were showcased by the company during Mobile World Congress where LG had the distinction of launching the largest number of handset. The company seems to have gone on an overdrive to be taken seriously in the fast expanding smart phone market following the successful manufacturing of Google’s flagship handset Nexus 4. The handset is still in great demand in much of the world. This raised the profile of LG in the world of smart-phone and provided it with much needed push.
In the meantime the company has finally launched Optimus L3 II and L5 II in the Indian market. Both the handsets are available in the market for Rs 8,000 and INR 10,499 respectively. On some retailing websites the Optimus L3 II is available for Rs 7200.
Both the handsets are going to get good response in the Indian market. LG Optimus L3 II is the base model of the series. This entry-level device will come with a beefy 1GHz processor and an advanced 3.2-inch IPS display panel. Well, it offers the same resolution (240 x 320) of its predecessor. The phone has a 5MP rear camera, which replaces the 3.2MP sensor of its old model. It may run on the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. With a small price, the L3 2 will be competing with the low-price models of its rivaling tech makers.
On the other hand LG Optimus L5 II comes with somewhat better specifications. It comes with a 1GHz Cortex-A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX531 graphical processor. Compared to its predecessor, the device gets a better processor (an upgrade from 800MHz Cortex-A5). The phone is to keep the same 4-inch WVGA display. Under the hood, the software will be the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The first generation L5 has a 5MP rear camera and no front camera.
