Petrol is expected to become cheaper by about Re 2.00 a litre from Friday midnight as state-run fuel retailers pass on the benefit of lower international prices during the last fortnight.
Simultaneously, the fuel retailers are also expected to raise diesel price by 50-60 paise a litre in line with the government's decision in January to ramp up pump prices in small doses till the subsidy is wiped out.
