Samsung launches Rex range of 'smart' feature phones
Samsung has launched a range of 'smart feature phones' under the Samsung Rex brand. The products, REX 60, 70, 80 and 90, are priced between Rs 4280 and Rs 6490.

"This new products have been developed in India, for Indian consumers. We look at this series as a way to broaden our appeal. These are targeted at young consumers," Asim Warsi, Vice President, Samsung Mobile said.

The company also plans to introduce the products in China, the Middle East, South Africa and the Americas soon.

The phones, which run on the Java platform, ape features of smartphones like wifi and edge network connectivity, inbuilt twitter live feed, chat and facebook applications. They also carry features available on Samsung's phones that run on Android operating system like the quick panel for notifications and widgets which give the phones the look of an Android smartphone.

The phones are dual SIM enabled and let users change SIM cards while the phone is on. They run Samsung's TouchWiz user interface.

The company also has an inaugural tie up with Tata Docomo to offer customers double the data they subscribe for on all standard recharges upto August 31 this year.
