Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 gets massive price cut
The 7 inch tablet, which comes with 3G and voice calling, is now costs like many tablets of Indian brands.

Samsung has reduced price of both WiFi and 3G versions of its Galaxy Tab 2 tablet, which comes with dual core processor, Android Jelly Bean operating system and 7 inch touchscreen.

The 3G, voice calling version of the tablet, known as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110, is now priced at Rs 15,999, which is only marginally costlier than what Indian brands offer tablets with similar specification. This version was earlier selling at around Rs 19,000. Similarly, Samsung has also slashed the price of the WiFi version of the tablet, called Galaxy Tab 2 P3111, to Rs 12,599; earlier it was selling for around Rs 14,000.

Both the 3G and WiFi only versions come with the same specification except for the connectivity. Both the versions of the tablet come with 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 32 GB micro SD card slot, and a 7 inch display with 1024 X 600 pixels resolution.

Besides, the tablets come with 3 megapixel fixed focus camera at the rear for taking pictures and recording videos and VGA front camera. The tablets come with Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system and Samsung TouchWiz interface as well.

Both the versions of the tablet have WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity but 3G version has added A-GPS support.

The Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 (which has 3G connectivity) has a 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery with claimed usage time of over 20 hours on 3G and 30 hours on 2G networks. The Samsung Tab2 P3100 comes with a standby time of around 800 hours. The device has 3G connectivity, WiFi, and also supports 21 Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA connections. GPRS and EDGE connectivity are also supported.
