Nokia 620 to Hit Indian Markets in the Second week of February, 2013

Nokia Lumia 620 is the cheapest smartphone from Nokia that runs on Windows 8 Phone operating system. Lumia 620 is being targeted at the emerging markets of Asia. It was recently released in Thailand for 8,250 baht. The mobile handset is going to be released in the Indian markets in the second week of February, 2012. But unofficially it will be available in the markets from this weekend.

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 are officially released in India for prices of Rs. 38,199 and 27,559 respectively. Lumia 920 is the premium phone that is giving tough competition to the likes of Samsung and Apple and is ready to increase its share in the Indian Smartphone market. Though both the phones in the Lumia series were promoted largely by the press before and after the launch of them in the Indian market, common buyer in India may not afford the smartphones because of the price. This is where Lumia 620 will come as a great option to the common buyer.

Lumia 620 will be the best opportunity for Nokia to attract the Indian common buyer by pricing the device competitively. Based on the price the device is being offered at Thailand, the price for which Lumia 620 will be available in India can be between Rs. 15,000 to 19,000. However there is no official confirmation from Nokia about the pricing of the device.

Lumia 620 is a budget phone that comes with a screen size of 3.8 inches and the display resolution is 480 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a dual core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. Internal memory of the device is 8 GB and the RAM is 512 MB. The users are also given 7 GB of free cloud storage via SkyDrive. There is also the convenience of expanding the memory up to 64 GB through microSD slot.

Lumia 620 supports quad-band GSM and 3G networks. The device allows the user to enjoy 3G connectivity from anywhere in the world. The device weighs 127 grams. There is a primary camera of 5 megapixels. The front camera is of 0.3 megapixel. The device is also provided with accelerometer, compass and proximity sensors. The battery under the cover is Li-ion mAh battery. If Nokia decides the price of Lumia 320 competitively the handset is sure to become popular in Asian markets.
