Sachin joins Facebook, gets 4.42 lakh Likes

Sachin Tendulkar has signed up for Facebook! The batting maestro now has his offical page on Facebook, which will be managed by Seven3Rockersm, a digital VAS company. At the time of the writing this copy, the page had generated over 4.42 lakh 'Likes' from Sachin's fans. He will use this platform as a means to connect, interact and engage with his fans on the internet.

On the page, Sachin posted: "I'll like to welcome you to my facebook family. As a child I always dreamt of playing cricket for India and I chased my dream of winning the World Cup for 22 years. It wouldn't have been possible without your support. I wanna take this opportunity to thank all of you for having prayed for me and wish well for me. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, join me on my facebook so that we both can share this experience and go through this journey together."

The page showcases all major milestones of the master blaster's batting career, however, it is completely devoid of any details about his personal life. Tendulkar's Facebook page will feature up-to-date information about the matches he is playing and his pictures, videos as well as opinions and reactions on cricket.

Tendulkar is also active on microblogging website Twitter and is followed by over 26 lakh subscribers. Sachin tweeted: "Dear friends, welcome to my facebook page. I hope you had the chance to go through it....." and "... If not join me on http://facebook.com/SachinTendulkar and be a part of this journey with me."

Recently, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who was already active on Twitter and has a blog, too created an official page for himself.
