Nikon Rumors has stumbled on a few leaked photos suggesting that not only is a new premium compact camera on the way to compete with Canon's G1X and G12 cameras, but also that the company is prepping an Android-based point and shoot camera.
Little is known about the anticipated Android-based device, except that it's called the S800c, and judging from the screens, you'll be able to combine the image quality afforded by a dedicated camera with the flexibility and power of Android photo apps. This could open up all sorts of possibilties for the smart camera category.
As for the premium compact, which supposedly will be called the P7700 and will succeed the P7100. But little else is known about the camera except it will have an articulating screen and presumably larger sensor than the standard point and shoot.
