Google+ Allows Custom URL for Verified Accounts

Search Engine Giant Google has allowed limited version of custom URLs for verified accounts on its social network Google+. The company has launched the feature to make it easier for users to remember url and access accounts of brands and famous personalities easily.

The biggest social network Facebook also offers the same feature to every user who has verified his account using a mobile phone.

David Beckham, Britney Spears and Hugh Jackman can now be accessed with their custom URLs. Among brands, Hugo Boss and Toyota can be followed on Google Plus.

Google product manager Saurabh Sharma announced the feature for Google Plus on the product’s blog. Google is trying hard to compete with Facebook.

With Google having better integration of Google+ in search results and across its other web services, the number of users using Google+ has increased. The upcoming userbase announcement will give a better indication of usage stats for Google Plus.
