Tata revamps the Nano

In an attempt to boost sales, Tata has made its small car - the Tata Nano even more desirable now. The newly launched Tata Nano sports a fresh look complete with new interiors, a better power-providing engine and new colour selection. Since the launch of the car in 2009, this is its first major revamp by the nation’s largest automobile company. Initially, Tata had scheduled to launch the revamped Nano in Jan 2012 at the Delhi Auto Expo but a surge in demand encouraged the company to advance its launch date.

"The interiors of the car are completely new, with enhanced premiumness in look and feel — luxurious beige in the Nano LX, rich black in the Nano CX and medium graphite in the Standard version— Tata Motors said in a release from its headquarters here.

Additionally, the company is also expected to launch an anniversary-edition Nano along with a diesel version as well. However, the diesel Nano is not expected to be out in 2012.

The company has improved its latest vehicles’ handling; it has a revised suspension set-up, includes an anti-roll bar at the front and its steering mechanism has also been enhanced.

The price of the vehicle remains unchanged at Rs 1.4 lakh for the Standard variant, Rs 1.7 lakh for the CX variant and Rs 1.96 lakh for the LX variant.
