The Dell Inspiron M101z laptop aims to strike the right balance between performance and portability, for just over Rs. 20,000. Slightly larger than the Dell Inspiron 10 netbook, the compact Inspiron M101z budget ultraportable tries to add a bit of style and is aimed at students for an easy-to-use laptop on the go.

The Dell Inspiron M101z continues the tradition of a forward-hinge design which began with the Dell Inspiron 14R, for the Inspiron series of laptops -- the Vostro V13, Vostro V130, also featured this design element. Despite its 11.6-inch form factor, the Dell Inspiron M101z budget ultraportable manages to squeeze in a full-keyboard for typing. The Dell Inspiron M101z with a six-cell battery weighs just 1.6-kg.
The Dell Inspiron M101z sports AMD Athlon II Neo dual-core processors: K125, K325 offering up to 1.7-GHz clock speed. The AMD processor on the Inspiron M101z comes equipped with integrated ATI Mobility Radeon 4225 graphics. The Dell Inspiron M101z supports up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 320GB 7200 rpm hard drive. The laptop has a 11.6-inch LED-backlit glossy display screen supporting 1366x768 pixel resolution.
The Dell Inspiron M101z offers three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, VGA, ethernet, and a multicard reader slot along with audio jacks. The laptop boasts of two 1.5W SRS Premium sound speakers, too.
