Nokia has introduced three new 3G enabled mobile phones in India - E52, 6700 Slide and 7230. All these handsets were announced in November 2009 but are being introduced now, reported Fonearena. These phones are compatible with the UMTS/3G networks and will have a social networking flavor in them. Both Nokia 6700 and 7230 are slider phones while E52 has a candy bar form factor. Nokia E52 smartphone from E series is a worthy successor to the Nokia E51 model but unfortunately, has been introduced very late in India. 6700 Slide is yet another 3G enabled handset which was deemed to be made available last year but is being officially introduced now. Do not confuse Nokia 6700 Slide with Nokia 6700 Classic. Blame Nokia for such confusing numbers and not us! Nokia 6700 comes with 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and has a dedicated camera button.
This phone comes with Symbian S60 9.3 third edition with feature pack 2. With 60MB internal memory, this phone can hold up to 16GB usable to store music and video. Nokia has also added FM radio and the music playtime of this phone is claimed to be 29 hours but offers 2.5mm audio port unfortunately. Nokia will sell 6700 Slide for Rs. 11,500 approx. in India and would be available in six colors.
Third in line is the Nokia 7230 which is a 3G enabled smartphone that runs Symbian S40 OS comes with 3.2-megapixel camera capable of recording video at 15 frames per second.
